OSU
First of all, I would like to wish you and your families all a very merry Christmas.
As we enter a third challenging year for all concerned, I would like to thank all of you for having maintained some sort of connection and loyalty to the club and each other.
Without the assistance and leadership from Gary, Nicole, Steve, Dorian and Vals we might not have a club to eventually return to.
All things must pass, and we will get back to training regularly.
In the meantime, there are plenty of things we can do individually to maintain some kind of form in preparation for returning to club training.
- muscle mass reduces within 24 hours so work on abdominals as much as possible. Change the way you work the abs whether it is cycle crunches, normal crunches or planks.
- shadow boxing in front of a mirror is very useful. try combinations of kihon techniques.
- tricep dips can be done using a bench or even the side of a bath.
- kicks, especially if you have ankle weights.
- the humble push up is possibly the single best exercise, it works several muscle groups
- don’t forget to stretch in all its forms. The more you increase your range of movement the better your posture and long-term health. You can even do this at home in front of the television!
- try remembering kata. You can even practice by visualization.
I look forward to seeing you all again in the near future.
