Senpai Angela Bruce is a dedicated and accomplished martial artist with a strong competitive background. She originally began her karate journey in 1994 in Japan, training in Shitoryu under four Japanese instructors in Chiba Prefecture, near Tokyo.

Upon returning to the UK, she briefly trained in Kyokushinkai at Bethnal Green dojo before moving to Docklands dojo in 1996, where she has trained under Shihan Nick and Maria ever since. Since the late 1990s, after returning from Japan, Angela has trained in the Shidokan London and Cambridge dojos with Shihan Burnel. Her experience there played a significant role in shaping her martial arts journey.

Angela is renowned for her tenacious fighting spirit in full-contact karate, with multiple competition victories to her name. She is a British Open Knockdown Lightweight Champion and has also secured two novice category titles. Representing Team GB, she achieved international success, finishing runner-up in the Oyama Cup in Holland against Sensei Clara Akpomua.

Beyond knockdown, Angela has also excelled in WUKO and Clicker tournaments, earning titles at both individual and team levels. After taking a break from competition to start a family, she returned to training with renewed dedication. She earned her 2nd Dan in 2016 and is now preparing to achieve her 3rd Dan in 2025.
