Senpai Chris Birch began his Shidokan journey in 2015, training under Shihan JJ Burnel in London. Over the years, his dedication and perseverance have taken him to international training events, including several successful visits to the French Shidokan club.
In June 2024, Chris was awarded his Shodan (1st Dan) in Shidokan under the supervision of Shihan José Galluccio in Nice, France.
Keen to broaden his martial arts knowledge and experience, Chris also trains in GoJu Ryu karate alongside his son at Shogun Practical Karate in Bushey, Hertfordshire. He achieved his 1st Kyu in December 2023 and continues to study both styles with enthusiasm and discipline.
